The 2nd "Sparkling Science 2.0" call for proposals was open for submissions from 1 June to 25 September 2023. 

Additional funding was again offered to projects with the following focus: the creation of school priorities in the field of science, the involvement of peripheral schools or schools that had previously not been reached or had only hardly been reached and the development of citizen science expertise through international networking. In addition, a thematic focus was placed on the subject areas of the EU missions of the EU research programme 'Horizon Europe'. One third of the tender amount was spent on projects that contribute to the content of these five missions. 

The projects will start in September 2024.
