"Sparkling Science 2.0" supports high-quality research projects in which scientific institutions cooperate with educational institutions and, if possible, partners from business and society.  

The first call for proposals for the research funding program was issued in September 2021, with a total of 168 projects submitted. Of these, 34 outstanding projects will be funded by the BMBWF with the increased funding budget totaling 11.5 million euros over a maximum period of three years. The second call for proposals started on June 1st 2023.
