Applied Cryptography
To produce an on-line curriculum for computer science classes
Our society is in the change to an information society which bears many new challenges and chances but also risks. Just as the social situation changes, it is essential to prepare the pupils that the information and data they deal with must be shielded efficiently from abuse or theft.
The goal of the project was the production of an on-line curriculum about cryptography for computer science classes. That meant that the most important techniques (including quantum-cryptographic techniques) have first been represented in their mode of operation. Concluding this process tasks had been defined, which have been dealt with in computer science classes.
The curriculum has been arranged multimedia – based considering the status quo of cryptography, as well as its history. The pupils co-operated in this project with the company Austrian Research Center ARC, they met with researchers and exchange experiences, they discussed and gained insight into the research enterprise. The pupils linked with prominent heads of the country. This might have had an impact on their professional career within the Austrian research institutions.
This project has been completed.
